Land Warrant for George Mason (July 10, 1779)

[10 July 1779]
To the principal Surveyor of any County within the Commonwealth of Virginia.
THIS shall be your WARRANT to survey and lay off in one or more Surveys, for (George Mason of Fairfax County Esqr—) his Heirs or Assigns, the Quantity of (Eight thousand four Hundred Acres of Land, due unto the said George Mason of Fairfax County Esqr. for the Importation of One Hundred & Sixty two persons the Certificates for which have been duly proved &) received into the Land Office. GIVEN under my hand, and the Seal of the said Office, on this (tenth) Day of (July) in the Year One Thousand Seven Hundred and (Seventy Nine)
